Holi

India 2012 – I was lucky enough to be in the beautiful Hindu town of Omkareshwar to celebrate and capture the essence of Holi (Festival of Colour).

Holi is celebrated all over India every year to rejoice the end of winter. The Hindu community participate in plastering the streets, natives and cows with vibrant toxic powder paint.

India has a fascinating relationship with colour. The hills and country are inhabited with modestly sized buildings plotted all over, painted in unique hues clashing off their neighbors dwelling.

This set of images is my attempt to capture the innocence of the young local community, the vibrant colours and celebration.
